About the Festival
Founded in 2018, the Shreveport Family Christmas Festival & Parade has grown from a small family fun night at the Airport Park Community Center into one of the city’s most dazzling holiday traditions. Created by Shreveport native Dorian Ford, in partnership with her mother Janet, immediate family, and mentor DJ Jabber Jaws, this festival has become the signature celebration of the season.
Each December, downtown Shreveport comes alive with lights, live entertainment, and the spectacular “Light Up Shreveport” Parade. Thousands of families fill the streets to experience a holiday wonderland filled with music, food, laughter, and community joy.
But the festival is more than just a celebration, it proudly serves as a fundraiser for GEYA (Giving Education Your All), a nonprofit dedicated to bridging the gap between home and school through tutoring, mentorship, and family support. Every ticket, sponsor, and tradition helps us light the way for students and families in need.
